Chucklefish has revealed a first look trailer and release window for Witchbrook

Chucklefish has been busy, and I’ve been patiently (for once) awaiting any news regarding its upcoming magical life sim Witchbrook. And today is that day! During the Nintendo Direct, a new gameplay trailer dropped alongside a release window for the game. The trailer is the first good look at Witchbrook, revealing a glimpse at the seaside city of Mossport, the surrounding woodlands, and the enchanting grounds of Witchbrook College. The game is set to launch for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox in late 2025 or early 2026.

In Witchbrook, you begin your life as the newest resident witch at the titular college in the bustling seaside city of Mossport. Alone or with up to three other players via online co-op, you’ll make friends, find love, and discover the wonder and charm of the world.

According to Chucklefish, Witchbrook’s features include:

• Enrol as a witch-in-training at Witchbrook College
• Immerse yourself in the bustling seaside city of Mossport
• Learn new magical abilities to support yourself, local businesses, and the community
• Make friends and find romance amidst a colourful cast of datable characters
• Spend time between classes however you choose; from foraging in the deep woodland, selling crafts at the Sunday Market, taking part in seasonal events, and much much more!
• Renovate and customise your cozy woodland cottage and transform the surrounding garden
• Express your unique aesthetic with customisable clothing, hair and accessories
• Adventure with friends! Up to 4 players can experience Witchbrook together in online co-op

Chucklefish is one of several developers, including Kitfox Studios, to adapt to a new way of developing games. “Embracing a 4-day work week and a firm no-crunch policy has been a huge part of realising our approach to game development – that the team feels valued, rested and supported,” says Witchbrook’s Producer Rosie Ball in a press release. “We know creativity flourishes in a healthy work environment, and we’re confident that the mindful and deliberate pace of Witchbrook delivers this experience to the players.”

Developed by Chucklefush with co-development support from Robotality, Witchbrook will be released for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox Series “this winter.” (Late 2025 or early 2026.)
