Devlog #1
Hello everyone. While I continue work on a separate GBA game that has it's own devlog, I have decided to make a new thread about something that I had worked on in the past two or three years. I have been working on a new way to listen to full length music albums on a DS. This method would not only allow you to listen to songs, but also read scanned album booklets, and pick a track from a tracklist, along with other features. It is called Musicboy.
It's essentially everything that makes a CD cool in a DS rom.
The way it works is by splitting an mp4 into seperate mono raw files for each track in the album, and using a library like Nightfox's Lib to play these raw files. It is not perfect, and there are some features that aren't complete yet (named booklets, and FMV's for certain songs), but it is a very interesting work-in-progress nonetheless. I intend on continuing work on this project, along with a major UI overhaul in the future.
I have made and uploaded a video to Youtube showing off the progress I have made. This is the first video I have ever done where you can hear my voice so that should be interesting. Due to copyright reasons, the albums and songs shown in the video below cannot be released since it's gonna be a guaranteed take down. Here is the video below:
