The price of Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour has been confirmed, and it is lower than what had been expected.

With all the concerns over the pricing of games for the upcoming console, fans have been wondering what the price of Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour would be. Thanks to the game’s info page on the official Nintendo website in Japan, we now know that it will cost 990 Yen.

While some fans may find it a little disappointing to see that Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour doesn’t come for free, they’ll be glad to know that it isn’t priced in the vicinity of a full-priced title. 990 Yen converts to around 7 US Dollars / 6 Euros based on the existing currency exchange rates, though we know for a fact that Nintendo adjusts prices across regions. The digital version of Mario Kart World has a price tag of 8 980 Yen in Japan, which converts to around 61 US Dollars. However, the same title is priced 79.99 Dollars in the US.

Based on the price adjustments seen for Mario Kart World, Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour will likely cost between 7.99 and 9.99 US Dollars and between 7.99 and 9.99 Euros in Europe.

It’s worth considering that not all Nintendo Switch 2 games will be as expensive as Mario Kart World, and it will be the outlier rather than the norm. Major first-party Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives like the upcoming kart racer, the next Super Smash game, the next Legend of Zelda title, and 3D Mario platformer, will cost 79.99 US Dollars. On the other hand, the usual Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives, such as Donkey Kong Bananza and Kirby Air Riders, will be available at the standard price of 69.99 US Dollars.

During the recent Nintendo Switch 2 Direct presentation, the console maker shared some of the hardware specs players can expect to take advantage of on the upcoming console. Read about it here.
