In case you weren't aware, the PS5's Welcome landing screen can be spruced up with a series of backgrounds, including animated ones — and it looks like Sony is releasing a bunch more.
Originally shared online by X user @chi_m02 and spotted by @Genki_JPN, numerous new animated backgrounds have been doled out to some PS5 players, in what appears to be a phased rollout:
Everyone currently has access to an Astro Bot animated background (as well as a few featuring the PlayStation shapes), but the likes of Days Gone, Ghost of Yotei, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, and more are also joining the lineup.
It's not clear precisely which accounts have been prioritised for access to these extra backgrounds, and none of us at Push Square have them currently. However, it's likely just a matter of time before these are given out to everyone.
We'll update this story once the new animated backgrounds are more widely available.
