Romhacker infidelity has taken on another SNES porting project, this time being the next entry in the original Mega Man franchise for the NES, Mega Man V.

Infidelity has previously worked on several impressive romhacks over the years, with two of the most prominent romhacks by him being The Legend of Link and a full compilation of all the Mario games for NES in a single ROM called Super Mario All-Stars NES. More recently, infidelity has been working on porting several of the great NES classics over to the Super Nintendo (or SNES for short), like the original Mega Man, Metroid and The Legend of Zelda for NES, to have the games run natively on the more powerful hardware, translating the 6502 assembly code from the NES to the 65816 assembly of the SNES, but translating the assembly language is the least of the issues, as both machine codes share a vast majority of their operation codes (opcodes), with the core of the porting process being the hardware and mapper-specific coding that the original developers used to create some of the on-screen effects, and the music being ported from the original 6502 to the SNES special SPC700 sound chip.

The porting process for Mega Man V started back in January 31st, 2025, and at the moment of writing, his Mega Man V port is currently still being worked on, closing in to the 2 months of development, with some of the remaining things left to be done, as mentioned by infidelity himself, being "implementing Mega Man's different weapons, ASM fixes for the platforms Mega Man can spin on, in regards to when he has weapons enabled".
