Hanako is trying to find that path when she begins to run her grandfather’s beloved shop. He was a renowned florist with unparalleled skill and compassion, and Hanako is dead set on upholding his legacy. Trying to live up to her grandfather’s reputation and being afraid of falling short, Hanako wonders if she is truly capable of filling his shoes.
The shop has diverse customers, each with their own stories, dreams, and struggles. Hanako must truly listen and empathize to craft bouquets that speak the unspoken. She uses the emotions and possibilities associated with every flower to connect with her customers, bringing them comfort. A unique bouquet-building mechanic allows you to craft arrangements based on each flower’s meaning. Red roses are for love, a white lily is for modesty, an amaryllis is for regret, etc.
Hanako’s story is one of growth — and not just hers. It is shaped by your decisions, your relationships, and the lessons you’ve learned along the way. In a perfect world, Hanako will find her own voice and learn that a bouquet’s true beauty is in the feelings it represents.
“Getting Hanako’s Flower Shop so close to release is both exhilarating and daunting,” said Metelsky in a press release. “Years of hard work and dedication have gone into crafting this game, and every word of its story is infused with heartfelt emotion. We sincerely hope it offers you a spectrum of feelings—joy, reflection, and comfort—especially during life’s tougher moments. This game has been my dream to release, and through all of the delays from events outside of my control, finally getting to release this game and seeing people play and enjoy it will fill my heart with joy.”
Developed and published by FantaJI Games, Hanako’s Flower Shop will be released for PC (Steam) in April.
