Legendary (and often legendarily weird) manga Baki the Grappler is getting a video game adaptation… but it’s not what you might have expected. Taking clear inspiration from the classic Punch-Out!!! titles, Baki Hanma: Blood Arena is a 2D, over-the-shoulder beat-’em-up where you’ll need to get a read on your opponent’s moves and act accordingly. Unsurprisingly, the reveal has divided opinion. Some fans are just happy to see Baki get some recognition, while others have been left disappointed by the game’s simplistic visual style and supposed lack of gameplay depth. Baki Hanma: Blood Arena’s coming to PS5 and PS4 at some point in September —…

Ballistic Moon, the developer that worked with Sony on its PS5, PC remake of Until Dawn, has “effectively closed” down, according to a new report from Insider Gaming. The outlet suggests, after speaking to sources “with knowledge of the situation”, that the studio is down to its bare bones following a quiet round of layoffs in December for staff working on post-launch support for the game. Now, it’s said only the founders remain and “possibly” a handful of workers “at most”. While the team did work with Sony on the Until Dawn remake, Ballistic Moon remains an independent developer. It’s reported leads…

One of the highlights of March 2025’s Xbox Game Pass lineup is Mullet MadJack, which is a “high-octane action shooter” that’s been on PC for a while now, and it has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating over on Steam. This has never released on Xbox before, but it’s definitely coming on March 13th, and it brings with it a wild gameplay experience that’s apparently “90% arcade fun, 10% roguelite”. It’s not just the Steam rating that’s good either, as the Metacritic rating stands at a very impressive 88 – here are just a couple of reviews we’ve spotted: Destructoid (9/10) “Mullet MadJack is a lot of dumb fun, but…

February 2025 was an especially busy month for new PS5 releases — and it would have been even busier had Assassin’s Creed Shadows not been delayed into March! Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 kicked off last month in a big way, with the hardcore RPG racking up seriously impressive review scores before wowing players both new and old. Meanwhile, the mental Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii offered something familiar but fresh, and of course, February was closed out by the seemingly almighty Monster Hunter Wilds. That’s a lot of game! But let’s not overlook the likes of Civilization 7 and Trails through Daybreak 2. Those two titles couldn’t…

Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann has warned in a new interview that you should not expect The Last of Us 3 to be a surefire bet that actually gets made in the future. The comment comes from a new interview with Variety discussing HBO’s second season of its TV adaptation of The Last of Us. Towards the end of the piece, Druckmann is asked about The Last of Us 3. He responds: “I was…

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, the superhero action game featuring Black Panther and Captain America, has been an elusive game since its initial reveal, but thanks to a loose-lipped voice actor, it seems we now know when it’s due out. In an interview with The Direct, voice actor Khary Payton — who plays Black Panther in the game — says the game is “still planning on 2025” for launch, narrowing that down to “a Christmas situation”. First revealed in 2022 without a title, the game got its first proper unveiling at last year’s GDC. As the name suggests, the game has a historic…
