The new Fortnite season hits too close to home. Influencers are pulling the rug on crypto, we have to pay taxes, and the economy is collapsing. It all began with Big Dill, a Soundcloud rapper who decided to make his own cryptocurrency. This move led to a chain of events that eventually destroyed the economy in Fortnite.
The latest Fortnite update added Pump & Dump, which is more than just a name of the weapon. In crypto world, this is a fraudulent scheme that usually ends with millions of investors losing money. In Fortnite? The same.
Fortnite has the newest crypto scam
Crypto scams and rug pulls have become increasingly common lately, so it’s no shock that the Fortnite developer decided to take a jab at “crypto investors” and “crypto bros” in the latest season. Additionally, Big Dill is a Soundcloud rapper who has made a fortune thanks to his pump-and-dump scheme. Sounds familiar yet?
The rug pull was so severe that Big Dill’s cryptocurrency, Dill Bits, has entirely lost its value. Previously, some items could only be bought with Dill Bits, but now they can be purchased with Gold due to the drastic drop in value.
Fortnite’s economy has also suffered from Baron’s tax, which is as high as 50%. Not only do you have to pay the tax while using vending machines, but you also have to pay it to use toilets across the island!
The loopers are currently fighting against Baron and will likely succeed in abolishing his tax. However, it will be interesting to see where Big Dill will end up. We’re certainly hoping that Fortnite’s economy will recover and that the residents of the island will be able to afford eggs in the future!
