San Diego Studio’s ridiculously successful baseball series is not one you may associate with narrative, but for two years now MLB The Show has played host to some of the best storytelling on PlayStation.
The Negro Leagues, a playable documentary mode anchored by the infectiously enthusiastic Bob Kendrick, will return for a third season in MLB The Show 25, once again digging into the backgrounds of some of baseball’s lesser-known superstars.
Presented with beautiful artwork, archive photography, and custom presentation, this is an enormously underrated mode that we can’t wait to continue in the new game.
The first storylines will focus on James ‘Cool Papa’ Bell, Norman ‘Turkey’ Stearnes, and Wilber ‘Bullet Joe’ Rogan, with more to follow in post-release updates. You can check out a taste of what to expect in the trailer embedded above.
