The New Denpa Men launches tomorrow for mobile devices
Free-to-play games have a bad reputation, but some are quite fun. In DDNet Editor-in-Chief Matt’s review of The New Denpa Men, he says you’ll be smiling the entire time you play. In the game, you catch little Denpa Men creatures that fly around you, become friends with them, and go on adventures together. It first launched for Nintendo Switch in mid-2024, and its launch on mobile devices is imminent.
The New Denpa Men supports cross-platform play, and data can be linked from Nintendo Switch to iOS and vice versa. There are some differences between the versions, though. Normal Catch cannot be played on iOS due to the OS specifications, the iOS/Android version features QR Catch, and neither version supports Together Catch or Offline Catch. While the mobile version is generally controlled by touching the screen, a controller may also work (but this isn’t guaranteed because it depends on the controller).

Developed by Genius Sorority, The New Denpa Men will be released for iOS/Android on March 10 (or 11th depending on your location). It is also available for Nintendo Switch.
Scholar of the Arcade Arts leaves Early Access this week
Hand-drawn pixel art roguelike aRPG Scholar of the Arcane Arts was released in Early Access just over two years ago and is now set to launch in full this week. Play as a wizard using the knowledge and power of the arcane arts to defeat invaders from the five planes of magic. You’ll travel through those five planes to collect and fuse spells, with a whopping 10,000 combinations to create. Find magic scrolls, solve puzzles, and unlock secret dungeons containing ancient mysteries.
Each realm is procedurally generated and ruled by hordes of enemies plus the malevolent demigods intent on destroying your realm. Use the right spell at the right moment to counter, disable, and deal massive damage to your enemies. Once each demigod is defeated, you claim their secrets as your own.
Developed by Courtesy of Endo and published by ESDigital Games, Scholar of the Arcane Arts will be released for PC (Steam) on March 11.
A free-to-play Suikoden game is coming to mobile devices
11 games have been launched in the Suikoden series since the first began in 1995, but the newly-announced Suikoden Star Leap is not like the other games: it is entirely tailored for mobile devices. It features dynamic sound and pixel art graphics that enhance the series’ art style. A new story of 108 stars about the runes is about to begin. Meet and befriend them all.
In Suikoden Star Leap, the Rune of Change is one of 27 True Runes that are rumoured to have created the world. The story begins in a village on the shore of a lake, just east of the Scarlet Moon Empire. The residents celebrate after the game’s hero — the chief Hou’s son — returns from his first successful hunt, but the hope is soon squashed when an assault is launched. The village’s fate turns in an instant.
Developed by MYTHRIL and published by Konami, Suikoden Star Leap will be available for iOS and Android, though no release date has been announced. While free-to-play, the game will include microtransactions.
The Occultist has been delayed until next year
That’s the bad news out of the way: originally set to launch this year, first-person horror game The Occultist‘s release has been pushed into 2026. The good news? There’s a new trailer! In the game, you take on the role of paranormal investigator Alan Rebels during his most terrifying investigation to date. Attempting to learn the truth behind his father’s disappearance, he is on a journey to the enigmatic island of Godstone. Navigate the foggy street and eerie buildings that once housed a notorious (and seriously disturbed) cult.
The narrative is backed by tense exploration and atmospheric environments. The pendulum has five unique mechanics that you can use to manipulate the environment. Your foes make the investigation a living nightmare, but you can be stealthy to completely avoid direct combat. The puzzles included in the gameplay require some insight into the occult.
Developed by DALOAR and published by Daedalic Entertainment, The Occultist will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series in 2026.
