With new heroes launching every month-and-a-half, Marvel Rivals developer NetEase Games is constantly working on new content for the free-to-play hero shooters. Despite the “sad culling” of its American developers, the team is still going full-steam ahead on upcoming seasons.
With Marvel Rivals Season 2 now just weeks away, NetEase has confirmed that the new season is “ready and set to go”. However, the studio is also hard at work on both Seasons 3 and 4 which are under intensive development at the studio.
Marvel Rivals Season 3 and 4 are under intense development
Speaking to PC Gamer, Marvel Rivals game director Guangyun Chen explained that the team is heavily investing in new content for the hero shooter’s future, not just the upcoming seasons.
“We have invested a lot of resources into developing upcoming content, including new characters, new maps, new modes, and more,” Chen told the outlet.
As NetEase gets ready to launch Season 2 in the coming leaks, Chen explained that the upcoming “content for Season 2 is ready and set to go”. Alongside this, the actual content for the next two seasons is under development and everything is progressing “smoothly”.
“The designs for Seasons 3 and 4 have also been completed and are currently under intensive development!” they explained. “Overall, everything is progressing smoothly.”
With new events coming to the game all the time, such as the upcoming Reddit Challenge for free units, NetEase certainly isn’t pulling any punches with the future content plans for the popular multiplayer game. While players battle against annoying character ults and underrated heroes, new patches are also in the works to balance the game.
