Sakamoto Days centers its story around a setting predominantly composed of assassins. It is only later that the show divulges into the top layers of the assassin world, who are often regarded as an urban legend by the narrative. These individuals are part of a sub-organization of the Japanese Association of Assassins via The Order—a group composed of only the most robust assassins.
Their purpose is to maintain order within the assassin world by taming any friction within the industry. Plus, with each member being leagues above the average hitman, not even an entire branch of the JAA could withstand the wrath of a single Order associate.
Even the protagonist sheds light on this difference by stating that if 10 Shin Askuras were to go up against an Order member. They’d be killed before the timer hits 6-seconds. Similarly, fans know from Sakamoto’s conversations with Nagumo that not all members of The Order are equal in ability. An instance that alludes to asking the obvious: Who among these legendary assassins, both past and present, is actually the strongest?

Dragon Ball 9 Most Powerful Saiyan’s Ranked
Dragon Ball has introduced many powerful Saiyans, but their strongest remains debatable. Here’s a ranking of the most powerful Saiyans.
12 Kamihate
The Greatest Sniper In History
Kamihate is by far the most skilled sniper in all of JAA’s chronology, subduing countless threats in less than a breath’s worth of time. Akin to his calling, Kamihate is also the most remarkable shut-in of all time. This introverted nature has caused his identity to remain a mystery, so not even his colleagues have ever seen his face.
Despite being a sniper, the legendary Order associate is also shown to perform close-range feats, mainly during the fight against Heisuke. A showdown where Kamihate practically humiliates Heisuke’s amateur tactics at trying to best him. However, even with all these feats, Nagumo and the others scale far above the speed of a sniper. Proving that, in a one-on-one fight, Kamihate would likely be subjugated.
11 Hyo
The Benevolent Menace
Dubbed as the least talented assassin, Hyo now holds a seat amongst the very best of the assassin world. Outpacing most, if not all, Order Associates in terms of sheer physical might, most attacks are rendered null in his presence. However, like all men, Hyo too isn’t all mighty.
Despite being a direct witness to the brutality of the assassin world, Hyo carries a considerate heart. This compassion causes him to compromise his safety over others, as evident from the battle against Kumanomi. Unfortunately, this empathy is only limited to Hyo as his peers carry no such compassion. Therefore, they aren’t limited in battle and can perform better as assassins.
10 Osaragi
The Impulsive Reaper
Being the only female member of the Order, Osaragi is introduced as a prodigy in contrast to Hyo. Having grown up on a farm, only to reveal a monstrous talent for assassination, Osaragi is everything Hyo isn’t. Just her feats begin, from ending A-rank serial killers to completely dismembering and dicing Carolina Reaper, an associate of X’s Organization.
She’s truly a reaper in every sense of the expression. However, as far as ranking is concerned, Osaragi’s impulsive nature and inexperience, as evident from the unfolding of her character, does in theory give her colleagues an edge over her as an assassin.
9 Kanaguri
The Pioneer of Assassin Movies
Aside from being a former member of The Order, Kanaguri is also the founder of Murder Films- a disturbing organization that records the ongoings of the assassin world. This obsession with filmmaking is often put on display whenever Kanaguri is engaged in a battle, as even his weapons are composed of filmmaking tools.
His stats/performance depend mainly on how badly he wants to make the fight into a film. Hence, his rank could vary based on future revelations.

From Pokemon to Gintama, here are some of the best action comedy anime series of all time!
8 Satoru Yotsumura
The Exiled Assassin
Despite being one of the founding members of the Order, Yotsumura was framed and exiled under false pretenses. This betrayal prompted the assassin to work with Slur- a primary antagonist of the franchise. However, even though he contributes to Slur’s goal, he still doesn’t agree with the antagonist’s ideals and labels him and his troops as revolutionaries.
Yotsumura uses a three-section staff that comes with a small blade attached to one end. The narrative paints him as a respectable threat even at an old age where he’s shown to hold his own against not one but two Order-level assassins. And yet, it is Yotsumura’s loss against ShiShiba that stops him from moving up the ladder.
7 ShiShiba
The Pragmatic Executioner
Coming in as both a mentor and student, Shishiba is the most nonchalant assassin in the franchise. Yet, this personality goes through an immediate flip when either work or his pupil is concerned.
Shishiba wields hammers as his primary weapon and compliments their ability to hit and gouge things out. In fact, it is through these hammers that he defeats and renders his former mentor, Satoru Yotsumura, unconscious, as evident from the events of chapter 100.
6 Kindaka
The Steel Dragon
Arguably the fastest assassin in all of JAA history, Kindaka is also one of the founding members of the Order. His speed was so great that in the past not even Sakamoto, the protagonist, or Nagumo, the current no.2 of the Order, could keep up with his momentum.
In fact, even after being bedridden for eight years, Kindaka was enough of a threat to force Sakamoto to change forms. And even then, Sakamoto’s punch inflicted little to no damage on a vastly nerfed Kindaka. A feat that automatically scales him above any of the previously listed members, especially if his prime is put in regard.
5 Taro Sakamoto
The Greatest of All Time
Revered by every hitman, Taro Sakamoto was known as the greatest assassin of all time. His speed, agility, perception, and strength were unlike any other as he alone stood at the very top of the assassin world. However, everything changed the day Sakamoto fell in love and left the world of murder to start a family.
This caused Sakamoto’s skills to succumb to rust, and the others to grow stronger. Thereby, giving birth to a power gap to rise, dethroning Sakamoto from the title of the strongest. At present, Sakamoto has recovered most of his strength and will soon have to go beyond his prime if he wishes to maintain his happy and peaceful life.

15 Strongest Characters In Tokyo Revengers, Ranked
Among so many great fighters in Tokyo Revengers, these are the strongest ones.
4 Torres
The Greedy Gambler
Torres is by far the most menacing of the new recruits, who only acts when large pools of money are involved. Prior to his recruitment into the Order, Torres was a well-established assassin of the underworld. Accumulating over 50 years’ worth of experience, he’s the only assassin to have achieved five wins over Sakamoto. Not to mention, Torres accomplished these wins while holding back.
He utilizes dual sandblasters as his immediate weapon, where each blast can cause enough damage to break the hardest of metals. Their destructive nature became all the more apparent during the face-off against ShiShiba, where his hammer was blown to bits upon contact. Surprising the legendary mentor, to no measure.
3 Yoichi Nagumo
The Lethal Trickster
Aside from being one of the greatest students to ever train at the JCC, Nagumo possesses exceptional combat skills. However, this mastery comes at the cost of a very laid-back attitude that does wonders when it comes to pissing people off. Something that is highlighted time and time again throughout the manga.
During his fight against Gaku—one of Slur’s strongest fighters—Nagumo emerges victorious by making use of an armament that shares no resemblance to the ones wielded by his colleagues. It seems that as an assassin, Nagumo is highly proficient with multiple weapons. In combat, he wields a large switchblade containing six different weapons, allowing him to adapt to any opponent. This versatility makes it nearly impossible to catch the rumored urban legend off guard. And makes adapting to his moves all the more problematic.
2 Takamura
Phantom of the JAA
Hailed as an absolute menace of a geezer, Takamura is the strongest and the most fearsome member of the Order. His mastery over swordsmanship knows no equal and his loyalty stands with no one other than the JAA. Depicted as a killer with no brakes, Takamura makes the primary antagonist hope that his old age does him in before their inevitable encounter. He’s also the only assassin to take on numerous Order-level assassins. Only to subdue them all, as he effortlessly slices and dices all who stand in the way of his blade.
Even the protagonist’s plot armor can’t help but bend the knee to this man as, during their battle, Sakamoto finds himself to be completely overwhelmed by Takamura. This unfathomable gap forces Sakamoto to acknowledge that even if he were to regain the consciousness and power of his past self, it would still prove to be inadequate against the Phantom of JAA.
