If you’re a fan of PC gaming, you may have come across a new Steam release over the past couple of weeks that’s launched into the stratosphere in terms of popularity, becoming one of the top early access games on the platform.
It’s called REPO (or R.E.P.O.), and it’s an online co-op horror game for up to six players. In REPO, the goal is to “locate, transport and extract valuable items from the haunted remains of a long lost humanity”.
“R.E.P.O. is an online co-op horror game featuring physics, proximity voice chat and scary monsters. You and up to 5 friends can venture into terrifying environments to extract valuable objects using your physics-based grabbing tool.”
Looking at the Steam reviews right now, REPO has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” average based on over 21,000 user ratings, and it set a peak of over 145,000 concurrent players on the platform just a few days ago.
Is REPO Coming To Xbox?
The developer behind REPO (Semiwork Studios) has said nothing about an Xbox version yet. That said, there have been many calls from the community for them to make one, and the success of the PC version suggests it could happen.
In fact, a fake version of REPO even appeared on the PlayStation Store recently and became the #1 most trending game on the platform, which clearly shows there’s interest in Semiwork building a console port when the time is right.
There’s hope for REPO on Xbox, then – but probably not until it leaves early access in the future.
Of course, there are so many other great indie games that are coming to Xbox very soon, including a whole bunch in March 2025 alone! REPO sprung out of nowhere – who knows what might emulate its success on Xbox this year!
