It’s been almost 20 years since the first Titan Quest graced our PCs – a mighty, Diablo-rivaling action RPG entrenched in Greek mythology. There’s been plenty of excitement for its long-awaited sequel (even if the ARPG space is incredibly crowded at the moment) and your first chance to play Titan Quest 2 is now just around the corner. Ahead of its early access launch, developer Grimlore Games is recruiting “thousands” of playtesters to give TQ2 a spin.
With promises of no loot boxes, no live service shenanigans, and the recently revealed bonus Rogue class that will be available from day one of early access, Titan Quest 2 is shaping up to be a genuinely exciting prospect. From what I’ve seen of its gameplay, it looks like a vibrant yet challenging rival to Diablo 4 and Path of Exile 2, and when Ken played an early build at Gamescom last year, he left feeling very optimistic.
If you want to see for yourself how this upcoming RPG stacks up, then its “exclusive closed playtest” sounds like the ideal chance to do so. Sign ups have just gone live, and it’ll span both Steam and the Epic Games Store. “Request access to be among the chosen ones who will don their armor, wield their weapons, and battle the forces of chaos,” Grimlore says. “Experience epic combat, heroic feats, and a first taste of what’s to come when Early Access begins!”
Even though it’ll be a closed affair, Grimlore says it’s looking for “thousands of brave warriors” to participate, so the odds of getting an invite feel pretty high.
As for its early access launch, there’s still currently no official date or window yet, but today’s playtest announcement does suggest that it’ll be “soon.” If these playtests are going to contain the same content that will be available in early access, then that really does sound like we won’t be waiting too much longer for early access to get underway. Once a date gets announced, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
