Throne & Liberty may not be reaching the same peaks that it did when it first got released, but that is not stopping them from rolling out huge new content updates. With the latest expansion pack, the Wilds of Talandre, there is an entire new region and many more stuff for players to explore and uncover. In this guide, we will be going through how you can get the new Black Anvil weapons in the game.
How to Get Black Anvil Weapons | Black Anvil Vendor Location in Map
In order to get most of the new Black Anvil weapons that were released as a part of the Wilds of Talandre release, you really only need to get the necessary materials in order to craft them. But first, you need to find the NPC needed to do this.
To get to this point, you must first progress through the story up to around chapter 12. This will eventually lead you to a location known as the Black Anvil Forge, which is a fairly large area with at least one teleportation stone and a lot of hostile dwarves that will be relevant in a bit.
Once you make it to this point, you now only need to find an NPC named Crandace, who is labeled as an “Obsidian Weapon Crafter”. We cannot provide you with an exact location, as he is a roaming NPC who will continuously walk around in or around Black Anvil Forge and will only stop if somebody talks to him.
To help you with your search, refer to the image below to see what he looks like. Just run around the Black Anvil Forge until you find him. He will have a purple icon above his head as well, which should make it slightly easier to spot him.
Unfortunately, finding him is only part of the process. Once you speak with him, you can now pick which weapon type you want to craft. This will require a decent amount of Abyssal Aggregate and an absurd number of Obsidian Pieces.
For the uninitiated, Obsidian Pieces are seemingly extremely rare drops from various enemies found all around the Black Anvil Forge zone. You will need around one hundred of these things for each weapon, and their drop rate is so bad that veterans have stated that only botters go for them, even in the Korean servers.
As of writing this, they have not addressed this issue with any patches and are highly unlikely to do so, seeing as it has been this way in the game’s original version too. If you are trying to get one of these weapons, you will just need some godlike luck and a lot of time.
The Black Anvil weapons, regardless of which kind, all have the same perks. Basically, these provide you with 50% bonus Sollant and a sizeable 50% increase in weapon mastery EXP. Their stats are not particularly great, but they are designed for hardcore PVE grinding.
If you insist on grinding for one of these, you will need to roam around Black Anvil Forge and kill any of the Dwarf enemies nearby (Brawlers, Snipers, Wizards, or Commanders) and just keep farming them until you get a hundred Obsidian Pieces.
You can also get Obsidian Pieces through Solo Dungeons. The drop rate here is also very low, but some players have confirmed that it definitely does drop from there, so you can choose that route if you want to break the monotony of killing dwarves.

It is highly recommended to do this grind with a full party if you can so your group can cover a wider area and kill large clumps of dwarves at a much faster pace. The drop rate will still be abysmally low, but this will at least somewhat improve your chances.
Just find a fairly empty spot and grind away until you get the necessary number of Obsidian Pieces for your one weapon. There is no shortcut for this as the resources themselves are not tradeable, though the weapons are.
On that note, you can also just buy crafted Black Anvil weapons from other players if you have the money to spend for it. Although likely to be expensive, it will at least save you from upwards to a month or more of pure mindless dwarf slaying and solo dungeon runs.
There are reports of people already having Black Anvil weapons in the global servers, so it is seemingly possible to get them one way or another. Whether or not they were made through legitimate means, or if they actually exist at all, is another matter entirely.
That is pretty much everything you need to know when it comes to these new weapons added in the Wilds of Talandre expansion pack.
