Cross-Platform Test Happening Now
NetEase Games announced on Friday that it has begun mobile and PC cross-platform testing for its multiplayer action survival game Once Human. Developed by NetEase’s Starry Studio, the free-to-play game launched for PC last summer, with iOS and Android ports in development. The cross-platform test is available for North American, European and Japanese users.
PC, Android and iOS users can sign up for the test by completing the official survey. However, slots are limited, so interested players need to act quickly. If accepted, PC players can join directly from the game’s client, while Android users can download the test version from the official website. Meanwhile, iOS users will need to download the TestFlight app before they can participate. NetEase also confirmed that Android and iOS test players will have access to all the content PC players currently enjoy.
Once Human comes to mobile next month
Once Human takes place in a post-apocalyptic future following an event known as the Starfall. Players take the role of biologically enhanced Meta-Humans capable of controlling Stardust, a mutagenic substance that has contaminated the Earth. They explore the devastated world, battling mutant Deviations and collecting friendly mutants called Deviants. The latter can help players in battle or by gathering resources.
The game’s default scenario sees players investigating the origins of the Starfall and unraveling the secrets of the Rosetta company, which created the Meta-Humans. Meanwhile, the Way of Winter scenario, added in September, sees players investigating a new threat in the harsh conditions of a frozen wilderness.
The PC version of Once Human has a 78% positive rating on Steam and a Metacritic score of 71. It releases on Android and iOS in April, and mobile users can pre-register on Google Play and the App Store from the game’s website. Users who sign up on the website can enter to win in-game rewards. NetEase is also holding a giveaway where users who pre-register on either platform have a chance to win an iPhone 16 Pro Max.
