The Vivo Y300i is all set to make its debut to Chinese audiences on the 14th of March, 2025. After a series of teasers, the phone made an appearance on the China Telecom website, and now its release has been confirmed by a Weibo post. The Y300 series includes the Vivo Y300 5G, Y300 Pro, Y300Plus (India), and the brand new Vivo Y300i. Recently, leaks have surfaced, according to Panda is Bald, on Weibo, and the series could very soon get a new model, dubbed the Vivo Y300 Pro+.
Vivo Y300i: Specifications
The brand’s next 5G smartphone in the Y series, and the direct successor of the Y200i, comes with a 6.68-inch HD+ LCD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz for a buttery-smooth experience. It is still powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset and supports 8GB or 12GB of RAM, which can be extended by another 12 GB. The storage options are either 256GB or 512GB and since the device is currently being launched in China, it comes with Android 15, with the domestic-only OriginOS user interface on top.
A major highlight of the device may as well be its battery, for it comes with the largest one in Vivo’s current portfolio. With a capacity of 6,500 mAh, it supports 44W wired charging, although it seems that wireless charging is not available. With a dual camera setup, the primary sensor is 50MP with a f/1.8 aperture, while the front selfie camera is 5MP. The device also sports a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Y300i also has exciting color options: Rime Blue, Ink Jade Black, and Titanium. It’s also said that the device comes with a fall-resistant “Diamond Shield glass screen” along with a thin and light build. The base, 8GB+256GB, version comes priced at 1,499 yuan (around 18,000 INR), while the 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB are priced at 1,599 yuan (around 19,000 INR) and 1,799 yuan (around 21,000 INR), respectively. The device is currently available for order in China and will go on sale on the 14th of March, 2025.
Vivo Y300 Pro+: Rumored Specifications
Coming straight from tipster Panda is Bald on Weibo, Vivo’s Y300 Pro+ is supposedly powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 SoC. Comparatively, the Y300 Pro is shipped with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. Among other info shared, the device will come equipped with a 7,320 mAh battery, a behemoth considering past Y series devices. The capacity could be slightly higher, say 7,500 mAh; this being a significant leap from the 6,500 mAh battery of the Y300 Pro.
The camera, on the other hand, is tipped to be a 50MP primary camera, while no information is available on the secondary sensor. Also, much like the Y300 Pro, the device could come equipped with a 32MP lens for the front selfie camera. Other details, such as the display size, memory configuration, and other features sadly remain a mystery.
Since the launch timeline for the Y300 Pro+ is still under wraps, we shall have to wait to be certain of its nature. However, since there are occasional leaks, we can expect to know about it sooner or later. In India, the Y300 series only includes the Vivo Y300 5G and the Vivo Y300 Plus, so the Y300i and Y300 Pro+ would be welcome additions to the roster.
