Rugby League Live 5 will feature authentic player likenesses from clubs in the northern hemisphere’s Super League, in a first for the sports franchise.
The news was ‘leaked’ by the Leeds Rhinos’ official X account this week, which posted some behind-the-scenes footage of a player face scanning session for Rugby League Live 5.
The tweet also seemingly confirmed that the now Nacon-owned Big Ant Studios, the long-running team behind the series, will return to develop the new title.

Although rugby league wasn’t spotlighted in this week’s Nacon Connect – as had been rumoured – NRL CEO Andrew Abdo earlier moved to confirm Power Up Gaming’s exclusive report of the new title being set for release in 2025.
He told Hello Sport’s All Talk podcast:
“I’ve got good news, there’s a new game in the works… It’ll be multi-platform, it’ll be much more online and much more contemporary. It will be released this year.
“We don’t want to stop there with just the PS (PlayStation) or Xbox platforms, we also want to find other ways in which we can connect with rugby league fans in a fun way.”
The news comes as the sport is still riding high on one of the most high-profile gameweeks in its history, Rugby League Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium, which took place on March 1.
