After hearing about some of the Xbox Series X performance modes in Assassin’s Creed Shadows earlier this week, Ubisoft has revealed the game’s full console spec sheet – featuring a bonus Series X mode and details on the Xbox Series S version of AC Shadows.
Over on Xbox Series X, we have a 60FPS performance mode, a 30FPS Fidelity mode, and a 40FPS Balanced mode – the latter of which only works with 120Hz displays. Xbox Series S players get just the one 30FPS Fidelity mode at launch.

As you can see in the above chart, all of the Series X gameplay modes are upscaled to 4K in the visual department – and they’re likely using dynamic resolution scaling which should hit higher figures if you choose a lower frame rate target. Over on Series S, Microsoft’s all-digital console is upscaling its 30FPS Fidelity mode to 1620p – and both consoles get ray tracing support in some form.
After multiple delays that shifted the game out of 2024 entirely, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is finally set to release for Xbox on March 20th. The game is set to last roughly 30-40 hours for the main campaign, and is Ubisoft’s first current-gen-only release for the Assassin’s Creed series.
