Warhammer 40K: Darktide is getting a significant update on the 25th March, titled Nightmares and Visions.
The gritty co-op title has often been criticised for its lack of consistent support, but developer Fatshark seems committed to expanding and improving the experience throughout 2025 — something that the studio had pretty much promised last year.
And so here we are, with the game’s biggest update since its PS5 launch back in December. Nightmares and Visions introduces a whole new game mode named Mortis Trials, which sounds like it’ll attach roguelike elements to a wave-based mission structure.
“Mash through waves of enemies in visions induced by the ship’s Psyker. Each time you venture into the Sefoni’s visions, you will be able to build new and exciting playstyles by selecting between abilities and buffs for the duration of the trial. By overcoming the Mortis Trials, players will unlock secret information on some characters present on the Mourningstar,” reads the official press release.
Havoc missions are also being adjusted, with mention of increased difficulty (uh oh) and a “reassessed” ranking system. Four new modifiers will be added as well, which should keep even veteran players on their toes.
And finally, the Ogryn class is having its entire skill tree overhauled. In some circles, Ogryns are considered… ineffective compared to other classes, and so Fatshark wants to beef them up. For the record, we’d never say anything bad about our beloved Big Lads.
