It feels like there’s not really been much hype around Age of Mythology: Retold over the past however many months, even despite the fact we really like the game itself, but perhaps its new expansion will help to change all that.
Yes, Age of Mythology: Retold – Immortal Pillars is now available across Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC, serving as the game’s first expansion that’s both included in the Premium Edition and available separately for £14.99 / $17.99.
In Immortal Pillars, you’ll be able to experience a new “legendary journey” featuring “a new pantheon of gods, legendary myth units, and awe-inspiring god powers in an epic campaign inspired by ancient legends.”
“Another legendary journey begins now, in Immortal Pillars, the first expansion for Age of Mythology: Retold. Command divine powers, lead mythical creatures, and build majestic cities as you experience a rich tapestry of Chinese culture and mythology. From its captivating deities to its intricate landscapes, Immortal Pillars expands your strategic possibilities and immerses you in a vibrant, mythological world.”
It’s still very early days for this new Age of Mythology expansion, but we can see from the Steam ratings that it’s only been scored by just under 150 people so far, with the average rating coming out as “Very Positive” at the time of writing.
If you’re interested in grabbing it yourself, keep in mind that Xbox Game Pass members get a discount on the standard price, bringing it down to £13.49 / $17.99. And again, it’s included in the Premium Edition if you have that already!
