JRPG hall of famer Suikoden 2 – which originally released on the PS1 in 1998 and is getting a PS5 and PS4 remaster later this month – will be adapted into an anime.
Announced alongside mobile game Suikoden Star Leap, the series will be developed by Konami Animation, which is its first project on this scale.
“As our first anime series, we aim to create an anime that will satisfy and excite our existing fans, so please look forward to further details and we thank you for your support,” the subsidiary expressed in a post on its official website.
Producer Ryo Hino added: “I am very honoured to be a part of this huge project. It is not only for original fans like me. These relationships between characters, and this dramatic story… I’m looking forward to sharing the story with even more people.”
You can check out an extremely short teaser in the video embedded above, with more information to follow in due course.
